The number of employees working dictates the number and type of first aid providers you need. The following guide provides information about First Aid requirements, the supplies to be included in a First Aid box, the quantity per number of workers to be trained in first aid.

Serve It Right Saskatchewan

This course is mandatory for everyone involved in the sale and service of alcohol. This includes: employees including door staff ("bouncers") supervisors, managers & owners. If you completed a server intervention training certificate from another province within the past five years, you may transfer your certification to Saskatchewan. Staff are required to have Serve It Right Saskatchewan PRIOR to starting their position.

Responsible Gaming for VLT Site Operators

It is mandatory that at least one owner or site manager complete this training. Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS) encourages participation by additional staff members as well. When selecting the participant(s) for a site, it is important to understand that if the trained owner or manager permanently leaves the site, LGS will require another individual complete the training. Certification is valid for a period of five years.

WHMIS

This course is for anyone who works with, or could be exposed to, hazardous materials at work. After completing the online course, you must get workplace-specific training in handling the chemicals and materials you work with or could be exposed to. The employer is responsible for arranging this portion of your training.

CannaSell SK Responsible Cannabis Sale

All retail owners and managers are required to take training in responsible sales of cannabis before a permit will be issued to allow sales. Employees are required to take the training before starting their employment. All FT and PT workers employed in permitted retail cannabis stores must have CannaSell SK certification before they begin working in the store.

Food Safety

Food Safety - Level 1

Food-safety training is provided by the Saskatchewan Health Authority to educate food handlers on the dangers associated with food service and methods they can use to lower the risks of food-borne illness. Their classes are intended for front-line foodservice workers. The operator of a public eating establishment shall ensure that a person who has successfully completed a course in food sanitation is always working in the public eating establishment when food is being prepared or served.
